Join the Wellspring Community
We are currently seeking volunteers at both our north and south locations!
Whether you have experienced your own cancer journey, have been a caregiver for someone with cancer, or if you are someone who has skills to share, Wellspring Calgary welcomes and values your contribution.
Volunteers fortify every level of our organization.
By investing your time and talents you:
- help others
- make a positive contribution to your city
- develop new skills
- meet amazing people
Please consider the opportunities below or indicate other skills you might be willing to share:
Peer Support: Peer Support Volunteers have had a personal experience with cancer as a patient or in a caregiving capacity. They speak privately and in confidence with those seeking support. Peer Support Volunteers share information about their own experiences and, in doing so, provide comfort, hope and practical information about coping with cancer. These Volunteers also provide program information, offer program suggestions, and assist in registration. This service is provided by cancer survivors or caregivers (18 years or older). Volunteers are required to participate in the training provided.
Front Desk: Front Desk volunteers contribute to our warm, welcoming atmosphere by greeting visitors, giving tours of the building, and responding to inquiries over the phone. This role also includes providing program information, offering program suggestions, and assisting in registration. Volunteers also assist with light administrative duties. Volunteers are required to participate in the training provided.
Other Areas: Wellspring volunteers are invited to assist with a variety of other roles, including Child minding, library duties, database support, gardening, fundraising, committee work, and special projects (specific to the unique skills of individual volunteers).
(Applicants must be 18 years of age or older)
